Idliiiiiii...

I was wondering a few days back..how come i forgot to share everyone's favourite dish..so finally here i am sharing..how to make nyc n spongy rice-urad dal IDLI. ..

Uncooked rice - 4 cups/2 glass (i used my steel glass to measure)
Urad Dal - 1 cup or 1/2 glass
Water - as required
Salt

Method :-

Soak rice and urad dal together for 2-3 hours in warm water.
Grind it using little water to a fine paste(check using your fingers..the batter should be very smooth to touch).
The batter should be thick ..not watery.
Add salt -1 tbsp (approx.),mix it using your hands.

Mixing using your hands help in quick and sure fermenting(my mom's technique ;) )

Pour the batter in steel/aluminium vessel with lid..and keep it aside for 7-8 hours or over-night to ferment.

Once the batter is doubled in size or fermented..mix it using a ladle..check salt, add more if needed.
Heat idli maker and pour enough water into it..grease idli sanchas(as shown in pic)..pour little batter inside and place the sanchas inside the idli maker and steam cook it for 12-15 min.

Njoy it with Sambar or Coconut Chutney :)
